TutorialPro/Elite ~20 min

Set up your floor plan and auto-assign tables

Goal: A digital dining room where every booking is seated automatically at the right table.

What you’ll need

A Pro or Elite plan, a rough sketch of your room, and your typical seating duration.

Step by step

  1. 1

Open Dashboard → Tables (Editor tab).

  2. 2

Click Add Zone for each area — “Main Dining”, “Patio”, “VIP” — each with its own color.

  3. 3

Add your tables: label (“T1”…), zone, shape, and min/max seats (a table for 2–4 gets min 2, max 4 — min stops a couple from being seated at your 8-top).

  4. 4

Drag, resize and rotate tables on the canvas to mirror your actual room.

  5. 5

Select adjacent tables and set Combinable with so the engine can merge them for large parties.

  6. 6

Set default seating duration (start with 120 minutes) and turnover buffer (15 minutes).

  7. 7

Open a pending reservation in Dashboard → Reservations, click Assign table → Auto, and watch it pick the best fit; use Manual, Move or Free when you want control.

  8. 8

During service, keep Dashboard → Tables → Live open: green = free, orange = occupied, red = recently freed — with a time slider to preview the whole evening.

The result

Bookings seat themselves, double-bookings are impossible (assignments are conflict-checked atomically), and anything unseatable is flagged “needs manual” instead of slipping through. Feature overview: table management.
